His jumping is brilliant and the speed he takes his fences is eye-watering. His Carlisle and Ascot races were brilliant and it is no surprise to see him lead the ante-post market. Kim Bailey and David Bass have started the season in unbelievable style and we cannot wait to see him tackle even more fences.
However, he unseated David Bass at the second fence at Kempton and will now go straight to the festival which could unsettle punters. With about three furlongs to go in the King George, Saint Calvados looked as though they were going to go into a 1v1 battle.
He was near perfect all the way round, an unbelievable performance from a horse first time out this season having had a setback. A drop in trip and at a course he has had success at before means he could be up for this. Thyme Hill won the Long Distance brilliantly and showed that he is not just a hype horse from last season. Richard Johnson rode him beautifully and he soared clear.
Paisley Park has obviously recovered from his heart issue. The Long Walk produced something out of the ordinary. With a four length lead over the last, Thyme Hill looked to be the clear and obvious winner. He edged every closer with every stride and showed the young guns how it was done.
Another one that can save her best performance for March is Roksana. The mare who loves the mud! She stays and stays but just needs to find change of speed in the closing stages. Perhaps she is one for the exotics! The best of the best win this and at some point in their second season hurdling, we would love to see Concertista take on Honeysuckle!
Surely, we are due to see her sometime soon in Grade 1 company. She jumps hurdles brilliantly and is a very exciting prospect. Coming from the same yard and with Kenny Alexander colours is Gauloise. Wow she was impressive at Thurles claiming her Maiden at the first time of asking and with an RPR of on debut for the yard the sky's the limit with her. We need to see her in a more competitive field before we make any decisions on her final destination but she is certainly one to keep in mind.

He is unbeaten so far and has won each and every one of his races emphatically. The one thing we have to point out is that he may not have faced the strongest of opponents so far. That will all change if he gets to the Festival in one piece. It will be interesting to see where Nicky sends Allart next.
The Supreme Hurdle fifth won a Grade 2 on chasing debut beating Fiddlerontheroof. That is some going! We probably need to see him one more time before backing him in this sort of event. Daryl Jacob rode him in brilliant style, keeping as still as ever, just allowing the nine-year-old to put length after length between himself and the Nicholls trained horse.
After one of the most successful Decembers in history, the Skeltons look to have a major player in every division and Shan Blue might just be perfect for this race. He jumps perfectly putting distance between himself and the field. That is how The Big Breakaway is going to lose races, his inability to jump consistently. Probably one of the more difficult races to find the winner of so early but here we are looking for possible Gold Cup horses in the making. Yes they are only hurdling at this point but they need to stay and jump big.
You may never have heard of the name before, but having won five races back to back he really is one that could turn up at Cheltenham. He has campaigned between 2m6f and 2m on good ground and heavy ground. Now rated he will turn up in races that he deserves to be involved in and looking at his ability and winning margins, he could be up in the s in no time.
Whilst those around him make it more challenging for themselves, he is ticking along nicely. The one that we have seen a couple of times this season is Imperial Aura.

The third race of the third day from Cheltenham is a relatively new one. T his is a grade 1 chase open to horses aged five and older is run over a distance of 2 miles 5 furlongs with a huge 17 fences to be cleared. While this event and its high-profile sponsor are inextricably linked these days, it is officially known of course as the Festival Trophy and has been in existence for only 15 years. Despite this, it is already seen as a hugely important event holding Grade 1 status with its distance of two miles, four-and-a-half furlongs meaning it is perfect for those in-between chasers thought of as not quick enough for the Champion Chase, or either not being good enough nor having the requisite stamina for the Gold Cup.
As always in these cases the race is aimed at five-year-olds and over with runners tackling 17 fences around the New Course. The seven-year-old beat the likes of Patiently Waiting and Fox Norton that day, demonstrating his impressive jumping and speed in the process. A length margin of victory at Ascot just a matter of weeks ago means that plenty of money has been put on Cyrname, with jockey Harry Cobden potentially having six wins to his name in already.
With trainer Willie Mullins having plenty of options for the Ryanair chase, Min could well be a leading candidate after he finished second to Altior in the Supreme Novices Hurdle in and the Champion Chase last time around. Mullins could well choose to go for the Ryanair Chase with Min this year, avoiding another battle with Altior in the process.
Monalee does not have as many miles as a number of eight-year-olds, enhancing his chances. The next outing comes at 3. Not only that, but, it is also the standout race of the day here at Cheltenham. This outing is run over the distance of 3 miles with 12 tough fences to be jumped by those aged four and over. Cheltenham day 3 tips will likely be led by selections given for this race, current main contenders including favourite Paisley Park alongside If The Cap Fits, Benie Des Dieux and Laurina.
It should go without saying really that this is the ultimate championship race for long-distance hurdlers; a Grade 1 event over three miles of the New Course with twelve flights being jumped over the course of the race. Seven-year-old Paisley Park is a youngster well worth keeping an eye out for, with the Emma Lavelle-trained horse having won four races already this season. Having gone up 16lbs in the official rankings, Paisley Park has not even reached his full potential yet, despite having impressed hugely in a recent win in the Grade 2 galliardhomes.
He also showed solid form in winning the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot at the end of , with seemingly plenty more left in the tank if needed. The eight-year-old certainly has the pedigree to defend his title, having also won the Albert Bartlett in and finished behind only Faugheen at Punchestown in the Irish version of the Stayers Hurdle during his last outing back in April.
Should Penhill be able to head to Cheltenham injury free, then he could well be too good for the rest of the field, especially given the lack of any standout competition. Samcro finished fifth out of only six runners in the recent Grade 1 Ryanair Hurdle at Leopardstown, having previously finished second in consecutive races at both Down Royal and Newcastle. Having seemingly recovered from a lung infection, Samcro now appears set for the Stayers Hurdle, having once been set for the Champion Hurdle.
This grade 3 race is run over 2 miles and 5 furlongs with 17 hurdles to be successfully navigated by the five years old and up runners. This is another event that has changed title over the years, often still being referred to as the Mildmay of Flete for example, given that it was originally named after the 2nd Baron Mildmay of Flete when it first took place back in The Stable Plate holds Grade 3 status, is a competitive handicap, and is open to chasers aged five and up. With victories in both and he has had some great runs in this event on Cheltenham Thursdays.
The Nick Williams-trained Siruh Du Lac is one of the most prolific young chasers around today , with five wins from his last seven races to his name. This win followed up wins at both Newbury and Exeter in November and December respectively, with his fluent running and jumping style meaning that he could well be a big threat at Cheltenham in March. The eight-year-old also performed well during his first ever run at Cheltenham, finishing as runner-up behind Aso in the Grade 3 Handicap Chase.
Seven-year-old Cepage has a good record this season, meaning that trainer Venetia Williams could well send her to the Stable Plate at Cheltenham. Cepage finished just over a length behind Frodon in the Gold Cup Handicap Chase at Cheltenham in December, having finished fourth on the same track in April.
This race is run by both fillies and mares aged four and older. It is one of the shorter races of the day, over a distance of 2 miles 1 furlong, with just the eight fences to be hurdled. Honeysuckle is the ante-post favourite for the Mares Novice Hurdle with the majority of bookmakers , with the Henry de Bromhead-trained five-year-old being unbeaten in her three starts so far this season. She won the Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse in January , having previously won on her hurdles debut by 15 lengths from Moskovite on the same track.
Trainer de Bromhead has brought her on slowly, however she has shown that she is ready to step up in class, with a run in the Mares Novice Hurdle seeming more and more likely. Despite having not been on a racecourse this year, Epatante is certainly a good outside bet at the Cheltenham Festival this year.
She has certainly been kept busy since then, winning all three of her last races. Having already claimed victory in listed company, Posh Trish is certainly not out of her depth here. What a way to end the Cheltenham Thursday! Kim Muir Challenge Cup starts at 5. Once more the New Course is used, this time with 21 fences being cleared by the runners and their amateur jockeys and given the competitive nature of the race, it is an event that will be among the most difficult for any Cheltenham runners on Thursday to win.
The success was the first of the season for the Jessica Harrington-trained horse, following back-to-back second place finishes at Punchestown and Leopardstown. Whisperinthebreeze was the final horse bought by Alan Potts before he died in November and the bold-jumping grey certainly looks likely to have a good future, having seen off the attention of the likes of Livelovelaugh and Speaker Connolly during his win at Leopardstown.
Glencoe had previously finished fifth out of six runners in the Novices Chase at Plumpton in January, with just one career victory to his name. The experienced horse was fourth in the Challenge Cup last year, with a mistake on the 16th effecting his chances of victory.
